The 'Telegraph' last week reported the. promotion of Mr. John O'Connell Davies, chief accountant of the Commercial Bank at Muswellbrook, to take charge of the bank's branch at Burren Junction (North Western line). We believe this gentleman was formerly an officer in the Molong branch of the bank.

After a long illness Mr John O'Connell Davies died at the Bairnsdale Hospital. He was a member of the Rotary Club, of Bairnsdale.

ALL persons having CLAIMS against the estate of WILLIAM JOHN O'CONNELL DAVIES (also known as John O'connell Davies), late of Bairnsdale, in the State of Victoria, retired grocer deceased, who died on the 27th day of October. 1949, and probate of whose - will was granted by the Supreme Court of Victoria on the 23rd day of January, 1950. to Myra Davies, widow, and Norman Melville Engel, solicitor, both of Bairnsdale aforesaid, are hereby required to SEND PARTICULARS in writing of such claims to the said executors at the office of the undersigned solicitors on or before the 15th day of April. 1950, after which date the said executors will proceed to distribute the assets of the said deceased which shall have come to their hands among the persons entitled thereto, having regard only to the claims or which they then have had notice; and notice is hereby given that the said executors will not be liable to any person of whose claim they shall not have had notice for any assets so distributed
