Mount Alexander Mail (Vic. : 1854 - 1917) Thu 9 May 1901 Page 2 ITEMS OF NEWS. An interesting wedding ceremony took place yesterday at St. Mary's. Roman Catholic Church, when, the Rev Father O'Neill united in the bonds of matrimony, Mr John Mulroney, farmer of Strangways, to Miss Elizabeth Collihole eldest daughter of the late Mr John Collihole, of Newstead. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was partaken of at Corbell's Coffee Palace. The bridesmaid, was Miss Emma Collihole, sister of the bride, and the best man, Mr John Collihole, junr. The bride was attired in a grey " frou frou" costume trimmed with white satin. Her travelling dress was a fawn cloth costume trimmed with white braid, with hat to match. The bridesmaid wore a pretty costume of navy blue, .trimmed with cream satin.

Mount Alexander Mail (Vic. : 1854 - 1917) Tue 25 Aug 1914 Page 2 Mount Alexander Mail Largely attended, the funeral of the late Mr John Mulroney, of Strangways, took place yesterday, the interment taking place in the family grave in the Sandon Cemetery. The cortege was a very long one, comprising over thirty vehicles. Supporting the casket at the grave were Messrs G. Tangey, S. Michaels, J. Walker, W. Marsh, J Shorten and M. Cussick. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Father O'Reilly. Funeral arrangements were executed by Messrs T. Odgers and Co., of Castlemaine.
Bendigo Advertiser (Vic. : 1855 - 1918) Wed 26 Aug 1914 Page 5 OBITUARY. Mr. John Mulroney, a very old resident of Strangways, died on Saturday, and his remains were on Monday interred in the Sandon Cemetery. The Rev. Father O'Reilly, of St. Mary's, Castlemaine, conducted the burial service.
