Mr. A. J. Rolfe from Bayah, on the Moorook line, said, before he went in to give evidence, that he intended applying for a couple of blocks (29 and 313) in the Parish of Morkalla. He had seven mouths to feed, and from what he saw of the small farms throughout the newly opened up Millewa lands, they were just the thing and would settle hundreds of men who were prepared to "work a small holding thoroughly". "I am desirous (he said) of making a start for myself, and have a certain amount of capital and a team. I have not held land before, but have been bush contracting.
