One of the oldest residents of Victoria passed away on Tuesday at Nutfield in the person of Mr Henry Limmer, at the ripe old age of 75 years. The deceased arrived in Victoria from England when he was between two and three years of age. and for many years he lived in Greensborough. From there he moved to Diamond Creek, and for the past 30 years he has been a resident of Nutfield, being engaged in the orchard industry. He married Miss Herbert, of Diamond Creek, and leaves a widow and five sons and three daughters to mourn their loss, all of whom are married. The family consists of William, Dot (Mrs Brock), Henry, Alice (Mrs Jones), Jack (W.A.), Ted, Charles and Mollie (Mrs Cwyford. The late Mr Limmer was a quiet, genial man, and highly esteemed for his fine character, being always prepared to help any one, but never thought of saying a harsh word. He was a devoted husband and an exemplary father, and it was a great joy to him to see all his family settled in life. He was treasurer of the Hazel Glen Church of England, and the vicar of that church (the Rev Watt) conducted the service at the Diamond Creek cemetery yesterday afternoon. Despite the heavy rain there was a large attendance at the funeral, the arrangements being carried out by Apps and Sons, Pty., Ltd.
