OBITUARY

OBITUARY
THE LATE MR. EDWARD RYAN.
The death occurred on Wednesday last after only a fortnight's illness of one of our best known district residents, in the person of Mr. Edward Ryan, of West Cowra, at the age of
68 years. He leaves a widow, who was Miss Mary Ann O'Leary prior to her marriage, and four sons and three daughters to mourn their great loss. The sons are Messrs. Michael
John, Edward and Daniel, and the daughters Mesdames P. Gavan (Victoria), G. Chivers (Sydney), and S. Buckman (West Cowra).

The late Mr. Ryan was in his day an ardent follower of the "sport of Kings," and raced such good ones as Argonette, Lady Argonette and others with great success. He was a fine
horseman and the equine which could unseat him when he was a young man was very hard to find. He had many interesting experiences in the early days, and could recount many stirring incidents of his career. He was a native of Ireland, but had been in this State since he was six years of age. Mr. P. Ryan, of Bendick Murrell, is a brother, and Mrs. Farrar (Sydney), Mrs. Downes (Broula), and Mrs. Haddon (Marengo) are sisters. The funeral look place to the R.C. cemetery the following day, Rev. Father Ring officiating at the grave. Messrs. J. P. Simeon and Sons carried out the arrangements. We tender the bereaved family our sincere sympathy.

Edmund married Mary Ann LEARY [13033] [MRIN: 4633], daughter of John LEARY [3167] and Mary Ann MOLLOY [12920], in 1883 in Musselbrook, NSW, Australia. (Mary Ann LEARY [13033] was born on 6 Nov 1864 in Young, NSW, Australia and died on 12 Feb 1954 in Cowra, NSW, Australia.)
