Rogers, James Private no 45048, 4th (Extra Reserve) Battn. The Bedfordshire Regt., 4th s of Joseph Rogers of the Horse Shoe, Sywell, Co. Northants, by his wife Kathleen, dau. of (-) Austin of Earls Barton; b. Earls Barton co. Northants, 11 Aug 1888; educ. there; was a clicker and stock room manager, in the boot and shoe trade; enlisted 3 March 1917; served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from March 1918 and died at No 29 Casual Clearing Station 16 May following, from wounds received in action two days previously. Buried in the Britih Cemetery, Gezaincourt near Doullens. He m. at Christ Church, Northampton 22 Feb 1917, Kate Jeweller, late of Towcester, co. Northans.
