In Jan 2024 I noticed a DNA match with an Orlandi and later with a person who was his test manager who turned out to be his Aunt. I remembered the name Orlandi from conversations with my father and the fact that they lived in Garfield and there was a DNA matches down the Dawes line I surmised that there might be a connection that we knew nothing about as the Orlandi tree showed no sign of a Dawes connection.

After thinking about it I decided to contact the Aunt to ask if she had any idea how the Dawes DNA was showing. The Aunt's DNA showed she was approximately 2nd cousin to Geoff Blackwell and I then surmised that Geoff Blackwell and Louis Orlandi would have to be cousins for the Aunts DNA to match so strongly with Geoff. On 27 February 2024 I contacted the Aunt via Ancestry.com and asked her if she knew how the Dawes DNA showed, she could not explain it and asked if I could. I suggested to her that I thought her grandmother may have had an affair with a Dawes male. It came to pass that whilst descendants of Louis all show matches down the Dawes line, Louis' 2 sisters descendants do not match Dawes DNA. My conclusion was showing to be correct and then the Aunt advised that her match with Terry Bidey was almost twice as strong as that with Geoff Blackwell. This leads me to believe that Albert Dawes is most likely the biological father of Louis Orlandi. The Aunt agrees with this summation.

Further theories or possibilities are currently being considered but at this stage the scenario of an affair between Albert Dawes and Dagmar Orlandi (nee Lawson/Larson) is the most likely.

Louis married his first wife Maureen in 1951 and had two children to her, then shortly after he had a child to another lady named Marion. They wrote on their children's birth certificates a marriage date but they never married, Louis had 5 children to Marion then they separated. At this time Louis had an affair with a married women and they had a child, this child recently contacted his half siblings who were only found through DNA.

This child's parents stayed together so it is thought that his father had no idea about the affair and up until the DNA match the child had no idea either.

Then Louis met another woman and had a son and finally got a divorce from his first wife. He then married this woman and had a daughter. Lou and this woman divorced when their children were young but Lou kept in contact with those two children.

It is thought that Lou married again twice more after his divorce from the woman who had his final son and daughter.

Louis married Maureen Mary HEFLER [14281] [MRIN: 5125] in 1951 in , Victoria, Australia.⁹⁵⁶³ The marriage ended in divorce about 1971. (Maureen Mary HEFLER [14281] died in 2015 in Murwillumbah, NSW, Australia.)
