Killed by a Falling Tree
An inquest was held yesterday at the residence of Mr. E. Tyler, Ida Bay Sawmills, before Mr. A. H. Boyd, coroner, and the following jury :-John Hay (No. 3), E. Heron, J. Bromwich, F. Kildea, A. Jager, E. Tyler, and Handy Tyler ; touching the death of Thomas Beddoes. From the evidence of Thomas Connolly and Michael Fazackerley, it appeared deceased and the witnesses named were employed to fell a tree on the 21st inst., and as the tree was falling it struck another tree, breaking off a large limb, which fell and struck deceased on the head and crushed him to the ground, causing instant death. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
