Ralph Cyril SHARMAN [1575]

  General Notes:

Ralph Sharman and his father Samuel Sharman and brother Samuel Sidney Sharman ran a partnership of Sharman and sons who were farmers, graziers and dairymen at Higham Ferrers. This partnership was dissolved as from the 25th of March 1930. The dissolution of the partnership was announced in the London Gazette on 28th July 1931 page 4969.

According to the Ralph's niece, mother of Tim Weatherhogg, Ralph served in WW1 and was wounded through the side and had a damaged buttock. Ralph and Kate (his wife) played the violin and piano respectively for silent movies. Ralph taught Tim's mother to play the violin and also gave her a violin.

Ralph worked a Duchy of Lancaster farm at Higham Ferrers and was invited to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II but he turned down the invitation as they were too busy on the farm. The Higham Ferrers estate in Northamptonshire was part of the original inheritance given by Henry III to his son Edmund in 1266. Ralph married Kate COBLEY [4442] [MRIN: 1366], daughter of William COBLEY [4443] and Sarah Ann ADAMS [4444], in 1918 in Thrapston, Huntingdonshire, England. (Kate COBLEY [4442] was born on 29 Jul 1894 in Raunds, Northamptonshire, England, died on 26 Feb 1988 in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, England and was cremated on 1 Mar 1988 in Kettering Crematorium, Kettering, Northamptonshire, England ²⁷⁹⁸.)
