George is thought to be the son of Thomas Tippett of St Columb Major, who died in 1685 at St Columb Major and his wife Cicily who was buried at St Columb Major on 10 March 1747. A baptism has been found for George, at St Columb, but to date there has been no record found of his parents' marriage.

George married Elizabeth SNOW [3311] [MRIN: 992], daughter of Nathaniel SNOW [12030] and Elizabeth [12031], in 1716 in Saint Columb Major, Cornwall, England.³³⁰³ (Elizabeth SNOW [3311] was born in 1695 in Saint Columb Major, Cornwall, England and died on 7 Aug 1768 in Saint Columb Major, Cornwall, England.)
