John Henry Evans was the principal of the Wonthaggi High School whilst Coral Blackwell attended the school. It was not known at that time that John and Coral were distant cousins (3rd cousin twice removed).

Evans-John Henry. Passed away Nov 16 2012 at Dunolly Nursing Home. Beloved husband of Dot (dec.) for 60 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Judi and Wayne McKail. Poppa of Nicole Gillies, Rob Gillies and his partner Alisha. His journey is over but his achievements live on. Keep mowing Dad.
Evans-The funeral service for the late John Henry Evans will be held at the Wagstaff Chapel, 30 Derby Road Maryborough on Monday (Nov 26 2012) commencing at 11.00am. The cortege will leave at the conclusion of the service for the Maryborough Lawn Cemetery. Donations to Alzheimer's Australia in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
