Mr. and Mrs. Fred. Hovey, also. Mr. and Mrs. George Marshman, who returned recently from their respective wedding tours, were heartily welcomed home by their many friends last week. The first portion of the evening was devoted to the old-fashioned mode of welcome-known as tin kettling.

Driving Without a Light
At the Ouyen Court of Petty Sessions before Messrs. W. J. Clarke and D. T. A Bevan, J's.P. on Thursday,
George Alexander Marshman was fined 5/ for driving a gig without a light on the Calder Highway north of Ouyen
on May 6. First Constable Lucas was the informant. Defendant did not appear. He had given as his excuse
that he had gone to a sale and did not think he would be getting home so late.

UNDETERRED by clouds of dust and a gale, the recently revived Ouyen Gun Club went on with its opening a
week ago as arranged. The club for the time being is concentrating on clay birds.
At the opening shoot L. S. Downe and G Hicks divided for first sweepstake with 6 but of 8. Downe also won the second event with a similar performance. .
Last Saturday Harry Christian, the secretary, shot well to win two sweep-Stakes. The others were won by George
Marshman, Tom Knight and R. Ingwersen.
