Arthur served in WW2 and told amazing stories of his exploits during the war. Arthur served a total of 1618 days in the services from 5.8.1941-25.10.1942 in the CMF, and in the AIF26.10.1942 until discharge in January 1946, Active service in Australia totalling 1025 days, and Active service overseas totaling 449 days. Arthur served in New Guinea from January 1941.
When Arthur retired at Wagunyah he and Joy set off to do a trip around Australia. They made it to the Atherton Tablelands, where Arthur had spent time during his Army Service and that is where they remained, some of their children moving up to the same area. Arthur did many activities. He made wooden clocks, he faceted gemstones and made many beautiful pieces.
