probably adopted from Port Pirie in approximately 1886, name in a newspaper article on the death of John Chamber (father) says his name was Thomas Henry.
On his death certificate his sister Florence has advised his birth as Koorong Station South Australia and that he did not marry or have any children, however a death notice appears in the Barrier Miner from Mrs E Chambers and daughter for their loved father and husband.

CHAMBERS The death occurred at the Hospital this morning of Mr. William Ernest ("Wanacky") Chambers at the age of 43 years. Mr. Chambers was one of the old residents and started work in 1896 as a runner for "The Barrier Miner." He later engaged in work along the line of lode and finished in the Proprietary when he was placed on compensation under the old Act. After an interval he was placed on the now Compensation Act. His sport was confined to shooting trips outback and he was an acknowledged bushman. He will be buried to-morrow afternoon, the funeral leaving the residence of Mrs Luckman, at 104 Beryl-street, at 3 o'clock.
