Frawley, formerly of the Flood Gate Hotel (now at Iona Hotel, Garfield), have received advice that their son, Pte. Jack ('Pro') Frawley was killed in action in New Guinea on January 18. Pte. Frawley was a former pupil of the Christian Brothers' School, South Melbourne, and left a protected industry to join the A.I.F. He is a nephew of Mr. Frawley of the Station Hotel, Port Melbourne, Miss Frawley (Railway Hotel, Port Melbourne), Mrs. Fisher and Miss Frawley (Town Hall Hotel, South Melbourne), and Mrs. Bell (Freer's Hotel, South Melbourne), and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. D, Bannan, of Port Melbourne.
