Joseph Wakefield appears to be a widower who boarded with Mrs Peel and furnished his own room. He leaves a large portion of his Estate to George and Harriet Peel and their family.

Probate was granted to-day to the will of Joseph Wakefield, of Inverleigh, carpenter. The testator appointed as his executors Alexander Maxwell, Church of England clergyman at Inverleigh, and Charles Sutton, of Boort, farmer. He gives Harriet Peel, the wife of George Peel, all his furniture and personal effects, together with £40 ; and £40 each to eight children of these people. He leaves £1500 to his three children in England, and gives £50 to be applied towards the cost of erecting the new Church of England, Inverleigh, the remainder of the property being left to George Peel. The estate is valued at £2415, all personal.

INVERLEIGH.
The late Mrs. Harriet Peel a very old and highly respected resident of Inverleigh passed away on Saturday night, being confined to her bed for the last six months at the advanced age of 90 years. Her funeral moved from her sons residence to the Church of England portion of the Inverleigh Cemetery on Monday afternoon. The coffin was borne from the hearse to the grave on the shoulders of Messrs T. W. F and C. Peel (sons and the pall was supported by Messrs E Peel (grandson), J Everett, W. Webster, T Alderson, J Costain, G Willsher, A, R, and J Venters, R Ritchie, W Berridge and W Amiet The Rev. Mr. Campbell, of the Church of England Inverleigh officiated and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. W. B. King and W. A. Goddard of Geelong.
