John was in the RAAF, based in South Australia. He had been on leave, as had his fiance (name unknown but possibly Julie Elizabeth Mogg father John, mother Anita Pauline 28113/1978 NSW) and had spent 8 days with the family. They were travelling back to SA after the leave and they were both killed instantly by a semi trailer. ⁴⁷⁴⁶
