  General Notes:

Thomas married Martha Sincock in 1878 and they had 5 children. Martha passed away in 1920. In 1903 Thomas married Emma Jane Lye. On his marriage certificate he states he was a widower and his wife had died in 1893 or 1894. They were married by William Read, the Vicar of Drouin. Emma and Thomas both give their address as Longwarry South on the marriage certificate.

I presume that Emma was about 7 months pregnant when the couple married at Longwarry South. Thomas gives his age as 40, but he was much nearer 50 and Emma's age is given as 25. Thomas admits he has 4 living children and 1 deceased child on his marriage certificate with Emma.

I have found no record of a divorce from Martha at the time of Thomas's second marriage.

Obituary.
MR THOMAS SHUTTLEWORTH.
The death occurred at the Deniliquin Hospital on Friday, 5th August, after a short illness, of Mr Thomas Shuttleworth at the age of 94 years. The late Mr Shuttleworth had for the past 10 years resided with his daughter, Mrs W. T. Balcombe, Jerilderie Road, Finley. Other members of the family are George (Berrigan), Betty (Mrs Sid Chambers, Melbourne), Emily (Mrs Hunter-Boyd, Leeton), and Frank (Leeton).
The deceased came from Victoria many years ago, and resided in the Berrigan and Tocumwal districts, where he was widely known and highly respected. His remains were interred in the Tocumwal Cemetery, the Rev. John Perkins officiating at the graveside.
