There is a story that Jane was originally married very young to a man whose surname was Jones. She then married George Ah Young on 15 September 1881in Hobart, Tasmania 1881 / 472. The marriage of Jane to anyone named Jones has yet to be found by myself. Also the death of George Ah Young has yet to be found by myself. Jane met Richard Tangey in Tasmania where they married. Richard adopted her two sons from her marriage to George Ah Young and they used his surname. After Richard Tangye died in New Zealand, it is thought possible that Jane had 2 more children to her lodger, Mr Patterson. One child died at the age of 4 months, however, the other child lived to a ripe old age.
