Leader (Orange, NSW : 1899 - 1945) Fri 4 Mar 1932 Page 2 [4] A Trundle Tragedy. Mr. Samuel Rawson, who was thrown from his horse and killed on his father's property, Mareetha, at Trundle, was one of the best known graziers of the district, and a cricketer of note. Rawson left his home on Saturday morning to ride over the run. but some time later his horse came home without him. His young wife, fearing a tragedy, set out to look for him, and her worse fears were realised when she discovered her husband lying in the bush with a broken neck and a fractured skull. The occurrence cast a gloom over the whole district when it became known, and cricket match which was to be played between Forbes and Trundle on Sunday last was abandoned.
