The marriage of Miss Effie Maude Franklin, eldest daughter of Mrs. Franklin, of Warracknabeal (and the late James Franklin), to Mr. James Lawson, younger son of Mr. James Lawson. of "Woodleigh." Wakefield, Yorks, England, was celebrated on Wednesday, 6th March, at St. Peter's Church, Eastern Hill, by the Rev. Canon Hughes, and afterwards at the Savoy. Owing to a recent bereavement in the bride's family, the ceremony was a very quiet one. Afterwards the happy pair left for a motor tour through Tasmania.
