The police evidence was that accused and two friends had been attempting to enter the Carlton Cafe after it had closed and were walking down to the Primrose Cafe when the door of the Carlton Cafe opened. They were retracing their steps when the door was shut again and accused then made use of disgusting language in a loud voice. Accused had been drinking but he was not drunk. The bench, Messrs. A. Porter and C. Massey, J's.P., stated that they had decided to stop the use of filthy language in the streets. Accused was fined £5 with costs.

Kalgoorlie, who was involved in an accident on October 31 when a truck he was driving overturned in Hannan-street, pleaded guilty in the Kalgoorlie Police Court to day before the Resident Magistrate (Mr. B. McGinn) to a charge of having driven the truck while under the influence of liquor. Defendant was fined £20 and his driver's licence suspended for the current period.
Sergeant Clements stated that on the morning of October 31 the owner of the truck, Mr. R. Worcester, made a complaint that his truck was being driven by defendant, who, lie believed, was under the influence of liquor. The police were subsequently informed of the accident and ascertained that the truck had left the ground for 12 feet while travelling down Hannan-street, had landed on its wheels again and travelled a further 90 feet, when it left the ground again, over turned and came to rest after a further 18 feet, facing in the opposite direction. Andrews was examined immediately after the accident by Dr. Byrne, who certified that defendant was under the influence of liquor.
