Peter and Margaret were married on 1 January 1855 at the Manse of the Church of Scotland in Melbourne. Also married on that day were Coleman Sharp and Margaret Dougall. Coleman Sharp and Peter Holland both recorded their occupations as Sailors and both marriages were witnessed by the same people, John Dougall Senior and John Dougall Junior. Peter's parents are given as Peter Holland, Farmer and Margaret Welsh. Peter signed his mark, but Margaret Jenkins signed her name. Margaret Jenkins parents are listed as William Jenkins Blacksmith and Margaret Ferguson.
