bullet  General Notes:

Ellen and William were married at the home of Ellen's mother. Witnesses to the wedding were Alice Louisah Oats ??? and George Trevillian. She had 2 children with William, Elizabeth and William Henry. William was a miner and he left Victoria and went to Western Australia. He came back in about 1894 but returned to Western Australia. William had married Martha Giblet in WA and was charged with bigamy. Ellen sought a divorce in 1900 and was granted a divorce at that time. She gave birth to a child before her marriage to James Cusack, the child was named James Cusack Trevillian so I presume his biologial father was James Cusack.

ALBANY QUARTER SESSIONS.
THE BIGAMY CASE.
FIVE YEARS' PENAL SERVITUDE.
PASSING VALUELESS CHEQUES.
TWELVE MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT ON EACH ON AUGE.
[Bf TKLEGBAFH.]
ALBANY, February 19.
ThE Quarrer Sessions were opened this morning.
William Henry Jones was presented on a charge of bigamy. Accused was brought before the police court last December, charged with the offence, and was committed, to take his trial. Evidence was then given to prove that Jones married Ellen Trevillian at Chiltern, Victoria, on November 12,1889, and that he married Martha Gillett at Albany, Western Australia, last October, knowing that his first wife was still living.

Jones on that occasion reserved his defence, but, pleaded guilty this morning. He was undefended. Mr. L fue, in addressing
prisoner, said he had pleaded guilty to one of the most serious crimes that a man could commit. By his conduct he had proved himself to be a man utterly devoid of feeling', had cruelly imposed upon a young woman and had perhaps destroyed
her life. He sentenced him to five years penal servitude, ad had the prisoner not pleaded guilty his sentence would have been heavier. Prisoner took the sentence calmly.
