A well-known old identity in the person of Mr. Thomas Whelan died at his son's (Mr. Norval Whelan) residence, Darlington road, Stawell, on Thursday. He was born in Ballarat and had reached the advanced age of 87 years, being very keen and active right to the last. He was a fine judge of sheep and a good horseman.
