William Duck WO 12 5914 Regt. No. 738 Sergeant William Duck died on the 12 March 1842 at St Kitts (no cause shown). He was born in Harcourt County Hants England. His trade at enlistment was a painter. He was first enlisted on the 21 November 1825 and transferred from the 71st Regt. to the 47th Regt. on 25 February 1830. His widow Sophia was paid 4 pounds 3s 4d in St Kitts and the children are listed as Catherine, Elizabeth and Annaliese. WO 12 5903 Private William Duck promoted to Corporal 9 February 1831 WO 12 5904 William Duck is listed as being a Private again in 1833 WO 12 5906 Private William Duck is promoted to Corporal 2 September 1834 WO 12 5907 Sometime between 30 June and 1 October 1835 Corporal Duck is promoted to Sergeant.
Between 2 May 1831 and 10 February 1839 all three men (husband's of Sophia) were in the same regiment and presumably knew each other and thus all presumably first met Sophia at pretty much the same time. From Ancestry.com via noellb_1 originally shared this on 31 Jan 2017
Possible children of William Duck and Sophia Gomez are
Annaliese (possibly Ann Kellam) Elizabeth Catherine
This is unconfirmed information and requires further investigation. As Sophia's first husband did not die until 1840 and she had 2 children born 1837 and 1838 with the surname Kellam, this may be those children. Also there seems no record of children other than Kellam and Glanville arriving in Australia with William Glanville and Sophiat.
William married Sophia GOMEZ [11004] [MRIN: 3720], daughter of Senor James GOMEZ [11788] and Unknown, about 1841. (Sophia GOMEZ [11004] was born in 1819 in Madrid, , Spain and died in 1853 in Toodyay, Western Australia, Australia.)
