Virgin Smith was a gypsy. Sue Holmes has a hard copy of the Eaton Bray parish records and she is entered as Virgin Smith, child of a travelling woman. There is no name of the mother.

VIrgin died whilst living at West Leaf (Leith??), Tring and she is recorded as the wife of Richard Holland of West Leaf who signed his mark on the death certificate so presumably they were living together at that time.

Virgin married Richard HOLLAND [1384] [MRIN: 1265], son of Richard HOLLAND [5860] and Katherine TURNHAM [5861], on 9 Jan 1809 in Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire, England ^1730,2427.^,2428 (Richard HOLLAND [1384] was born in 1785 in Totternhoe, Bedfordshire, England, christened on 27 Feb 1785 in Totternhoe, Bedfordshire, England,²⁴²⁹ died on 17 May 1859 in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England ^2430,2431 and was buried in 1859.)
