Allan Stanley WILSON [5973] ⁵⁴²⁶

  General Notes:

Allan enlisted in WW1 at Warragul on 18 October 1916. His SERN was 7091. He gave his address as Gormandale, his occupation as dairy farmer and his age as 23 years and 9 months. He was 5' 11", 144 lbs with a ruddy complexion, brown eyes and dark brown hair.

He embarked from Australia on the Hororata on 23 November 1916 and landed in Plymouth England on 29 January 1917. He proceeded to France in May 1917. On 6 January 1918 he was admitted to hospital with a frostbitten foot and was returned to England. He was sent to Sutton Veny and transferred to the 1st Machine Gun Battalion. At the end of November 1918 he returned to France, returning to England at the start of March 1919.

He was granted leave, with pay and subsistence, for non military employment in the UK from 31 March 1919 to 30 Oct 1919. The reason being "breeding cattle" at F edge, Sallops (possibly Gallops) Homestead, Ditchling, Sussex. He was discharged as 3 md (TPE) on 30 October 1919 and returned to Australia on the Argylshire in September 1919.

Allan married Charlotte Rhoda MISSEN [8728] [MRIN: 2835], daughter of Evelyn MISSEN [8729] and Emily PEARCE [8730], in 1920 in , Victoria, Australia.⁵⁴²⁵ (Charlotte Rhoda MISSEN [8728] was born about 1892 and died in 1967 in Yarram, Vic, Australia ⁵⁴²⁸.)
