BEAUFORT.- Mr. Absolom Crocker, sen., of Raglan, was cutting wood on Saturday in the Bush at Mount Cole, when a limb of a tree broke and fell on him. He was knocked down, and in falling came in contact with the blade of his axe, which cut open the side of his face almost from the temple to the neck. He managed to attract the attention of a passer by, who took him home. Dr. Eadie, of Beaufort, had to insert 20 stitches to close the wound. https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/154907049
