CHILD SEVERELY BURNED.
HOPETOUN, Monday.- William Franklin. the four-year-old twin son of Mr. and Mrs. George Franklin, of the Club Hotel, Hopetoun was severely burned about the upper part of the body, hands and face.
Whilst in his cot at the hotel he reached out and got hold of a box of matches. He evidently struck a match, and his flannelette pyjamas became ignited. His screams attracted the attention of those in adjoining rooms, who quickly went to his assistance and extinguished the flames. The little sufferer was removed to a private hospital.

CHILD DIES FROM BURNS.
HOPETOUN, Thursday. - The death occurred at Newhaven Hospital, Hopetoun, of William Franklin, the twin son, aged four years, of Mr and Mrs George Franklin of the Club Hotel, Hopetoun. On December 17, while in his cot at the hotel, the child reached out for a box of matches. He evidently struck a match and his flannelette pyjamas became ignited, and he was burned on the body, hands, and face. Death was due to shock as a result of the burns
