There is a birth registered in 1871 for James Edward McMillan parents John and Mary Jane, but no death has been found for James Edward.

There are two births registered in 1907 for John Edward McMillan with parents John and Alice.

The death of John in 1936 has him recorded as age 65 which would make him born about 1871. I wonder if James Edward McMillan was John Edward McMillan, this does not account for the birth registered in 1907 of John Edward to Alice McGuinness and John McMillan. This would have made Alice 59 years of age when John Edward was born. This is a strange one.

McMILLAN, - On the 12th September, at his residence; "Sarabelle," 86 Grandview-avenue, South Pascoe Vale, John Edward, the dearly beloved husband of Isabel Mary McMillan, and loving father of Edward, Rose (Mrs. Finney), Joseph, John, James and Josephine, aged 65 years.
