Lillian was 14 years old when she married Reynolds Skinner in 1931. Reynolds was 18 years of age. The marriage was carried out with permission of the bride's mother and the grooms father. Witnesses to the marriage were the Grooms father and J M Snackenburg, presumable Julia, Lillians Aunt.
When Lillian marries John Lacava in 1954 she states she was divorced on September 21 1944 and there was one child named Sheila Maude McCarthy. Lillian states her occupation as cook and John Lacava's occupation is given as fitter living at the Shell Hostel at Corio.
