Hannah STOCKWELL [1284] ²¹⁶³

  General Notes:

In the 1841 Census of England, Hannah is living in St Pancras Parish, Marylebone, although her name is written as Ann. Also living with her were James and Mary Ambrose, both aged 15 and William Dawes aged 21 Blacksmith.

Hannah Ambrose and was living with her children George and Charlotte Dawes at the 1861 census.

On her death certificate, the occupation of Hannah's husband Alexander Ambrose is given as soldier.

From a photocopy of a page from the Family bible that I discovered in August 2019 the following is written :-

Fell Asleep in In Jesus
Our Dear Mother on
Friday Sept 19 between 1/2 Past
five and Six O'Clock.
May She Rest in thy Peace
And awake to a Joyful Resurrection Amen
the mother of Charlote [sic] and Charles George and William Dawes
Sept 19th 1862

2. Residence: 1 Waterloo Road, 1861, Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England. ²²⁰⁰ Hannah AMBROSE was said to be a widow at the time of the 1861 census. Also at this address were George Dawes aged 45 son, grocer, and Charlotte Dawes, daughter aged 50, house servant.

Hannah married William DAWES [1285] [MRIN: 388], son of William DAWES [4069] and Martha BENSON [4070], on 25 Aug 1806 in London, Middlesex, England ²¹⁹³.^,2194 (William DAWES [1285] was born about 1785 in , , England, died in Nov 1820 in Marylebone, Middlesex, England ²²⁰¹ and was buried on 12 Nov 1820 in Marylebone, Middlesex, England.)

Hannah next married Alexander AMBROSE [1287] [MRIN: 389] on 20 Oct 1822 in Chelsea, Middlesex, England ^2195,2196.^,2197 (Alexander AMBROSE [1287] was born about 1785, died in 1845 in Greenwich, London , England ^{2202,2203,2204} and was buried on 28 Feb 1845 in Greenwich, London , England ²²⁰³.)
