Ellen Vinsen (Vinson) sailed to Australia on a ship called "Thames" which sailed from Plymouth on 9 July, 1855 and arrived at Geelong on 11 October, 1855. On her marriage certificate, Ellen states her father's name as Henry Vinson occupation as Revenue Officer and her mother's name is said to be Mary Ann Teldon.
