We regret to record the death of Mrs. Mary Agnes Thrupp, wife of Mr. W. H. Thrupp of ' Lauriston' Roma, which occurred at St. Vincent's Hospital, Toowoomba, on 26th April.

Mrs. Thrupp "was the fourth daughter of the late Mr. William Lloyd, of Camperdown, "Victoria, where she was born on the 19th December 1865. After completing her education, at the age of 16 years, she joined her eldest brother, the late John Lloyd, of "Lallarook," Lockhart, N.S.W., and resided with him until December, 1886, when she married Mr. W. H. Thrupp, who was then residing at H. Lagoon, Surat. Immediately after their marriage, they came to Surat, and purchased a butchering business, from Mr. W. A. Naylor, now of Wangobel, Surat. Selling out the butchering business to the late William Lawton in 1888, they took up their residence at Roslyn, Surat, where they resided for three years. In 1891 Mr. Thrupp leased a grazing property, now known as Rockton, from Mr. Chas. Ferris, senior, where they remained until 1895. Coming to Roma Mr. Thrupp purchased from the late James HanIon his present home, '' Lauriston,': where Mr. and Mrs. Thrupp have lived for nearly 34 years. The late Mrs. Thrupp was of a very retiring disposition, being devoted to home life..

She was the mother of nine sons and four daughters. One son predeceased her in 1921, aged 16 years. She leaves a husband and twelve children to mourn their loss, 10 being married Ernest (Railway), Goulburn (Sutton Grange, Roma), Moffat (Rolston, Surat) Cecil, (Euraba, Mitchell), Cyril (Blythwood, Roma), Robert (Royland, Surat), John (Grosvenor Downs, Surat), Laurie (Normandy, Muckadilla). Her daughters are Mrs. G. E. Singleton (Dalby), Mrs. Colin H. Wood (Lorne Peak, Blackall), Mrs. Herbert S. Carne (Gwynneville, Mount Abundance), and Miss Gem Thrupp (Lauriston).
