Mr. Holman, who was aged 54 years, was born in Bendigo, but for the last 25 years be had resided in Western Australia. He represented the Murchison Electorate in the West Australian Legislative Assembly for 16 years, and he had held the positions of Minister for Railways and Minister for Labour. At the time of his death-he was Labour member for Forrest.

The annual conference of the union was to have been opened in Melbourne yesterday, but owing to Mr. Holman's death it was postponed until to-morrow. Mr. Holman, who was aged 54 years, was born in Bendigo, where in his early years he worked as a miner. For the last 25 years he had resided in Western Australia. He represented the Murchison electorate in the West Australian Legislative Assembly for 18 years, and he had held the positions of Minister for Railways and Minister for Labour. At the last State election he was returned un-opened for Forrest as a member of the Labour party, and he declined office in the present Labour Ministry. Mr. Holman unsuccessfully contested the Fremantle seat at the last Federal election. he leaves a widow and seven children.
