A miner named James Crocker met with a serious accident between 3 and 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. It. appears he was sinking in shallow alluvial ground at Duncan's Gully, about a mile and a half from Raglan, when the ground caved in on him.
It was about 10 or 15 minutes before he was dug out. His chest is badly injured. He is being taken to the Ballarat Hospital by the 1.30 train.

BEAUFORT.-Mr. James Crocker died at Main Lead on Sunday, aged 70 years. He was a native of Castlemaine. He was a widower, and leaves three sons and three daughters.
James married Charlotte PITCHER [6277] [MRIN: 1994], daughter of Josiah PITCHER [6281] and Elizabeth WHITE [6282], in 1880 in Ballarat, Vic, Australia.416 (Charlotte PITCHER [6277] was born in 1854 in Castlemaine, Vic, Australia 5560 and died in 1919 in Raglan, VIC, Australia 5561.)
