MRS. FRANCES C. MARSHMAN.
A well-known and highly respected resident of Ouyen, and a faithful member of the Methodist Church, Mrs. Frances Charlotte Marshman. passed away at the Ouyen Hospital on Tuesday at the age of 85 years.
The deceased lady was a pioneer of the Brim district, where she resided until 15 years ago when she came to Ouyen with her son, Mr. George Marshman. Her husband, Joshua Jesse Marshman. died in 1915. Recently Mrs. Marshman spent about a year in Brim. As the oldest female pioneer of the district and having the largest number of living descendants, she was the recipient of a presentation and many congratulations and expressions of esteem at a Methodist Church gathering.
Three daughters: Mrs. Earl (Brim), Mrs. Goodgame (Brim), and Mrs. Trelewen (Carnegie) survive her, as well as her son, George. Another son predeceased her. The funeral will take place at Brim on Thursday, the arrangements being in the hands of Mr. A. Ayton

Samuel Bryon Cash married Sophia Grafton and in the 1861 Census prior his marriage, he stated his occupation as "stone getter" Shortly after their marriage, the couple boarded the 1500 ton ship Ivanhoe on 18 November 1862 at Southampton under Capt J. P Fillian bound for Australia in the company of 355 other Government Immigrants. In the passenger manifest of the Ivanhoe his middle name is recorded spelt as Brien.
They arrived at Port Philip Heads on 26 February 1863 and started a new life there having nine children as registered in the Victorian Birth Indexes, the first child being born in 1865 and their last in 1878. Samuel 's middle name is variously recorded as Brian, Bryan and Brien for those births .
