KENNA'S EMPIRE MINSTREL CO.
The first perfofmance of Kenna's Empire Minstrel Company, given in the School of Arts Hall, was most successful and received the hearty and enthusiastic appreciation of the audience who demanded the reappearance of many of the performers
.
From first to last the performance went with a swing, and some of the items of the programme were of the highest order. The performance opened with a full appearance of the company in ' Our Social Party.' a portion of the entertainment that was well appreciated.
The second part consisted of selections by Miss Gertie Mason, who succeeded in pleasing the audienca to quite the same extent as in the first part. Then followed Miss Smile Lazern in a really admirable sleight of hand entertainment, which kept the audience thoroughly interested and
amused. Mr. Steve Adson followed in his own special line of business, and was twice recalled for his really humorous work. ................cont

MASONIC HALL. SIDNEY AND CO.
A really fine and at the same time novel evening's entertainment is provided nightly at the Masonic Hall, where Frank J. .Sidney and his company hold the boards.
The former is now recognised by a very large number of Bendigonians, is an; expert at jumping, dancing, and acrobatic feats, and his contribution to the programme is full of attraction and sensation.:
"A Morning in a Sportsman's Garden," a very novel arrangements enables Mr. Sydney to display his abilities, and on Saturday night a large audience was delighted with his performances." Comedy trick cycling, with all its latest features, was presented by Newman and Hughes, who,
made their first appearance in Bendigo.
They control bicycles in such a way as to enable them to go through what appear beforehand to be impossible. Miss Gertie Mason has a nice voice, and a happy way of singing several catchy songs, and her items proved very popular. In addition to the above performers, a series, of
up-to-date biograph pictures was also screened.

DUTTON PARK.
The large audience, at Dutton Park on Saturday night must been pleasing to. the management... The films presented by Mr. Black are alway's high class, but on Saturday night he came to the fore with a programme brimful of gems, including two "exclusive photo-plays, "When Pierrette Meets
Pierrot" and "A Gipsy's Kiss." Great interest was sustained by - these two pictures, but .the applause was no less pronounced when the latest was budget was screened. Mr. Black adhered
to his recent announcement of getting the best of vaudeville turns for his entertainment, and it was in consequence' that Mr. Frank Sidney 'and company were secured at great expense. -They pleased the audience with their sensational act, "A Morning in a Sportsman's Garden." The same may be said of- Miss Gertie Mason, an American dancer, and Breeches, a humorous comedian. The two old favorites. Gale and Sadie, will appear on Tuesday night;

The last mention I can find of Gertie Mason in Australian newsapers is an advert in The Register Adelaide Sat 3 Jan 1920 page 2 advertising.
According to his New York, USA Naturalization Record, Joseph Jaschek was born 15 Jan 1887 in Vienna Australiaand departed Sydney Australia arriving in the USA in 1921. He applied for naturalisation on 19 Jan 1921 and sailed on the ship Sonoma. I presume that Florence Gertrude left Australia with Joseph at that time.
