KINDRED.
Kindred, in company with other centres, is morning the passing away of the pioneers who in the early days laid the foundation of the agricultural importance which this district now enjoys. The last of the hardy farmers to pass over the Great Divide was Mr. Thomas Trebilcock, sen., who died on Monday evening. The deceased had been a resident of the North-West Coast for upwards of 50 years, during which time he had carried on farming pursuits in the Forth and Kindred districts. He was a native of Cornwall (England) and arrived in Tasmania with his parents at the age of seven years. They resided at King's Meadows, near Launceston, and then at Deloraine, afterwards removing to the coast. The deceased was a man highly esteemed for his many estimable qualities. He leaves a family of seven sons and two daughters, four of the former, being well-known farmers of Forth and Kindred districts, and two being in New Zealand and one in Queensland. One of the daughters is the wife of Mr. H. Cox, of Ulverstone, and the other, Miss F. Trebilcock, resides with her mother on the homestead at Kindred. The funeral took place at the Methodist Cemetery, Kindred on Wednesday afternoon, and was largely attended, residents from various coastal centres being present to pay respect to the memory of a man who had left behind him a life's record for integrity and honesty of purpose. The funeral service was performed by the Rev. L. I. Fielding, assisted by the Rev. F. T. Cleverdon. The pall-bearers were Messrs. A. C. Solomon, G. Wellard, R. Gibson and Percy Mulligan (nephews), and the chief mourners were the four sons of deceased (George, Reginald, Wason and Charles), Mess. William Trebilcock (brother), H. Powell and C. and W. Mulligan, (brothers-in-law) and H. Cox (son-in-law). Mr. A. M. Harman, undertaker, conducted the funeral arrangements.
It seems that some of Thomas's children went to New Zealand. Also some of the family dropped the "CK" off Trebilcock and became Trebilco.

LICENSING PROSECUTIONS
Inspector Gray v. Catherine Tangey.
Catherine Tangey, licensee of the Sunnyside Hotel, in Arden Street, was charged with Sunday trading, Mr. D. Gaunson appearing for the defence. Richard Sheehan and Constable Guthrey, plain clothes constables, stated that among other hotels, they visited the above last Sunday week, about 9 o'clock p.m. Both were admitted into the yard through following a boy, after which they walked up a passage. The bar parlour door was open and they walked in. There were seven men sitting down, before four of which were four glasses of beer, three glasses of which were drunk in their presence. In reply to a question, a woman appeared and stated she was the licensee. The glasses con tained beer.
For the defence, it was not denied that liquor had not been supplied, but it was only given as an act of hospitality to those present, some of whom had come a considerable distance to see the licensee's husband, who was ill.
Cross-examined by Inspector gray, the defendant stated that she did not sell the liquor. The Bench, after a lengthy consultation, held that although it was proved liquor had been drunk, no evidence had been furnished that it had been sold, and as the summons had been worded incorrectly, it had practically reversed the decision which otherwise they would have given,
The case was dismissed.

General:
Ellen and William were married at the home of Ellen's mother. Witnesses to the wedding were Alice Louisah Oats ??? and George Trevillian. She had 2 children with William, Elizabeth and William Henry. William was a miner and he left Victoria and went to Western Australia. He came back in about 1894 but returned to Western Australia. William had married Martha Giblet in WA and was charged with bigamy. Ellen sought a divorce in 1900 and was granted a divorce at that time. She gave birth to a child before her marriage to James Cusack, the child was named James Cusack Trevillian so I presume his biologial father was James Cusack.

TWELVE MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT ON EACH ON AUGE.
[Bf TKLEGBAFH.]
ALBANY, February 19.
ThE Quarrer Sessions were opened this morning.
William Henry Jones was presented on a charge of bigamy. Accused was brought before the police court last December, charged with the offence, and was committed, to take his trial. Evidence was then given to prove that Jones married Ellen Trevillian at Chiltern, Victoria, on November 12,1889, and that he married Martha Gillett at Albany, Western Australia, last October, knowing that his first wife was still living.
Jones on that occasion reserved his defence, but, pleaded guilty this morning. He was undefended. Mr. L fue, in addressing
prisoner, said he had pleaded guilty to one of the most serious crimes that a man could commit. By his conduct he had proved himself to be a man utterly devoid of feeling', had cruelly imposed upon a young woman and had perhaps destroyed
her life. He sentenced him to five years penal servitude, ad had the prisoner not pleaded guilty his sentence would have been heavier. Prisoner took the sentence calmly.
