In the 1841 Census of England, Hannah is living in St Pancras Parish, Marylebone, although her name is written as Ann. Also living with her were James and Mary Ambrose, both aged 15 and William Dawes aged 21 Blacksmith.
Hannah Ambrose was living with her children George and Charlotte Dawes at the 1861 census.
On her death certificate, the occupation of Hannah's husband Alexander Ambrose is given as soldier.

Several Ancestry trees have James parents as Thomas DAWES and Elizabeth Trigge. This information is almost certainly incorrect as James father should have the surname of Stockwell, not Dawes. Also some Ancestry family trees have Ann Higgs marrying James Stockwell, however I have been unable to find a marriage that fits this information. They also have Ann Higgs as b. 1751- d. 1826 however the death mentioned is that of an Ann Higgs. If she was the wife of James Stockwell surely her death would have been registered as Ann Stockwell.
