One of the prettiest and most popular weddings held in Greensborough was solemnised on Saturday, June 16, in All Saints Church, the contracting parties being Miss Rose Chapman (niece of Councillor and Mrs Santon) and Mr Stafford Bullen (son of Mr and Mrs Charles Bullen, who are very old residents of Greensborough).
The bride looked charming in a dress of ivory duchess satin, with lace, Lady Betty sleeves, trimmed with crystal beads, pearls, lily of the valley, and orange blossoms; court train lined with pale blue, designed in true lovers knots worked in crystal 'beads and pearls, spray of orange blossom, veil, coronet of orange blossom, and shower bouquet of carnations.
The first bridesmaids were Miss Georgie Santon and' Miss Elsie Bullen, who were dressed in blue satin, georgette panels and sleeves, trimmed with pink crystal beads, blue and pink flowers at waist, blue tulle veils, coronet of blue and pink, pink carnations and ferns for bouquets. The third and fourth bridesmaids were Miss Eileen Bullen and Miss Phyllis Thomson. Their dresses were pink satin, trimmed with crystal beads and pink swans down, blue and pink flowers at waist, pink tulle veils, coronets of blue and pink, and bouquets of blue and pink.
The train-bearer was Peggy Silk, who was dressed in white crepe de chine, trimmed with torchon lace, blue flowers at waist and wreath, blue stockings and shoes, and she carried a blue posey. Mrs Santon looked very nice in a nigger marocain, trimmed with beads and pearls, nigger hat, and bouquet of autumn tints. Mrs Bullen also looked well in a grey marocain, hat to match, and a posey of purple pansies.
The bride was given away by Mr Santon. Mr Lines was best man, supported by Mr Roy Quirk. The Rev. A. Caffin tied the nuptial knot, and Mr Starling presided at the organ. The church was tastefully decorated by Mr W. Scrivens, and the hall by Mr Bullen, sen., Mrs Thornton and friends. The bride's gift was a travelling case, and the bride groom's gift a fur coat. The chief bridesmaid received a gold armlet, and gold bangles were presented to the others.
After the ceremony the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Santon in the public hall, where 100 friends assembled. The toast list, included "The King";" The Bride and Bride groom," proposed by the Rev. A. Caffin; "The Bridesmaids," by the bridegroom, and responded to by Mr A. Lines; "The Groomsman," by Mr Medhurst, and responded to. by Mr Roy Quirk; "The Parents of the Bride," by Mr Amiet, who gave a most interesting little speech, as he had known the parents and the happy couple since they were children; "Bridegroom's Parents," by Mr Ansell; "The Vicar," by Mr B. Rose; "The Chairman," by Mr Santon. After the reception tea. was over a most enjoyable evening was spent by 150 guests. Mrs and Miss Mountford supplied appropriate music during the reception, and the catering was in the hands of Mr Silk. There was a beautiful array of handsome presents, including a number of cheques.
The bride's travelling dress was a gabardine trimmed with gray fur, silver tissue hat, gray gloves and shoes, and fur coat. The honeymoon is being spent in. Belgrave and Mildura.

There is a family story that Harry was a batman for Howard Carter of Tutankhamen fame. At one time when Howard Carter was heading to Egypt, Harry Burditt declined the offer to go due to being married and having a young family. It seems that this family story has proved to be incorrect.
