OBITUARY
The passing of Mr. Jack Byrne at the early age of 28 years came as a great shock to his many friends and relations. His death occurred last Friday morning from heart failure at Hopetoun, the home of his wife's people. Deceased was the eighth son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luke Byrne, of Byrneville, and was well known in and around that locality. It is only four years since he sold his land at Dooen North to his brother Herbert and went further north to seek fresh fields. He finally bought at Beulah and settled there. His brothers George Ott and Billy are well known wheat growers in the Dooen North, Byrneville, and Kewell North districts. Two years ago last November the deceased married Merle, the second youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. E Franklin, well known business people of Hopetoun. The sympathy of friends go out to the young wife in her hour of trouble. The coffin was borne in the grave by five brothers of deceased and a brother-in-law, W. Franklin, and the Rev. Naismith of Warracknabeal performed the last solemn rites. He was buried on Saturday afternoon in the Hopetoun cemetery. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. A. E. Perry, of Hopetoun
